Inspired by the tam worn by Daisy Mason in Season 3 of Downton Abbey,
this tam is knit in the round from the top down.
You will need @ 220 yards of dk or light worsted weight yarn, size 6 double-pointed and 16 inch circular needles, a tapestry needle for finishing loose ends, and a locking ring stitch marker
Techniques used in the pattern include knitting and purling, increases and decreases, Emily Ocker's Beginning, and Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.
The pattern includes website with tutorials for the cast on and bind off methods used.
Gauge is 5 sts per inch over stockinette stitch, before blocking.
