Tippet- noun. A scarf, usually of fur or wool, for covering the neck, or the neck and shoulders, and usually having the ends hanging down in front.
Unless you are Mistress Tippet. And then you have the option of securing those ends at the shoulders for a draped cowl.
And then there is the option of buttoning the ends at the back for a snugger fit.
Mistress Tippet uses @ 450 yards of dk or light worsted weight wool. Shown here in a merino/angora handspun and Stonehedge Mill's Shepherd's Wool.
Stitch markers, buttons, and a 32 inch circular needle are required to complete this project.
Mistress Tippet is knit in one piece from the top down. She stars with a gentle garter stitch shawl collar and is finished with a simple feather and fan lace. The collar is shaped using German Short Rows. This pattern is written. There are no charts.
